Great experience. It was great to experience both though will do one at a time next time.
We enjoyed this experience although it had downsides but I was probably expecting too much. Next time, I would do either the island or Pontoon alone. I'll be honest and I'm not complaining, just sharing what I thought at the time, keeping in mind it was overall a great experience for me and the kids. Check in with tickets and boarding the boat was simple and we paid $22 parking for 10hrs (max) at the outdoor parking close by, as our car was too tall for undercover. It was beautiful weather once the morning rain cleared but the seas were rough and made the 1hr boat ride to Green Island a bit sickening. Once there the kids went to snorkelling on the beach straight away so we didn't get to explore much but the beach was beautiful and a large turtle swimming close by. The 2hrs on the island flew by before we had to go line up for the boat to the pontoon. Lining up also cut into our 2hrs. The seas were very rough on the 1hr trip to the Outer reef and we all got very sick. Once there, it was very crowded on the pontoon and a little chaotic. I got the kids to the Underwater Observatory. They enjoyed it, although it was hard to see anything, murky, and dull. We then lined up for some food, a small choice in buffet and nothing the kids wanted to eat. We went on the semi submersible through the reef. It was informative and fun, we seen a few cool looking Coral and fish. We then went snorkelling. It took about half an hour for me to get both kids and myself suited up to go in but once in, it was very cool to see the fish underwater up close. The Coral was difficult to see while snorkelling but it was still an amazing experience. Again the few hours we got there flew by. The 2hrs back was easier to handle than the way there somehow. I would highly recommend, and would also recommend only doing one at a time for the first trip to experience it all unrushed.

Awesome day experience if green island and Great Barrier Reef Pontoon
All staff friendly and helpful. Well informed about the day. If traveling to Cairns this tour us a must to do. From the moment we checked in to the boarding of the boat it was all hassle free. 1st stop was green island and this was just what we were expecting. 2 hours here then off to great barrier reef Pontoon. The snorkelling was absolutely amazing. The included lunch was also well appreciated. Great day throughly enjoyed by my husband and myself.
