The largest museum of its kind in Australia, the Gold Coast Wax Museum is home to over 110 life-size wax figures that you'll have to look twice at! Featuring a range of exhibits including copies of British Crown Jewels and dioramas depicting Australia's history.Visited by thousands every year, the realistic wax figures and their authentic costumes gives you the chance to meet a range of famous and important people from Queensland, Australia and around the word.

Be sure to bring your camera as you're likely to spot some celebrities including Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Johnny Depp and Kylie Minogue as well as some political figures including former Australian PM's Bob Hawke and John Howard, US President Barack Obama, Former US President John F. Kennedy and even members of the Royal Family.

The Gold Coast Wax Museum contains figures which have been crafted by leading local and overseas sculptors to international standards, equal in quality to the world's best, as seen in Europe, the United Kingdom, and U.S.A. The incredibly intricate detail in the figures is amazing - and includes hair applied one strand at a time, requiring many working hours for one hand, and the eyes so anatomically real they seem to follow the viewer around.

This painstaking work takes two and a half years, with each figure valued at $60,000 plus. Bring your sense of adventure and your camera and see something exciting and quite unique. Buy tickets for the Gold Coast Wax Museum in Surfers Paradise here.

Staff were super friendly and genuinely welcoming. We absolutely loved the horror tour and would recommend anyone who is visiting the Gold Coast to come and see the wax museum!

We had a nice time at the Wax Museum

We had a nice time at the Wax Museum. Thank you for the wonderful service. It was amazing to see all the famous figures made of famous people, Jackie Chan, Diana, Gandhi, and many more and it was wonderful to see all the weapons that was used in historical times, how people were tortured. This was great for our children to see and learn. A wonderful learning experience. Thank you!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good way to spend an hour during your holiday. Fascinating historical figures. Some wax models do not look like the famous person they are portraying. Museum laid out well to explore. Recommended for families. Easy parking in side streets near the water. Chamber of horrors was interesting and well guided. Great service by the staff. Really made a great experience. We would return again for another visit in a year or two.

The staff at the Wax Museum on Ferny Avenue in Surfers Paradise were all super friendly and informative
Debbie Austin 1 year ago

The staff at the Wax Museum on Ferny Avenue in Surfers Paradise were all super friendly and informative. I went with a friend, and we were directed to look at the figures of famous people first, with some of the more notable characters mentioned before we entered the display. Some of the figures did not look like their real life characters, but others did. All of the costumes were beautifully done. The was figures are all behind glass, so you cannot touch them or pose for photos with them. After seeing these figures, we were taken into the Chamber of Horrors by a guide, who was very knowledgeable when it came to the history of human torture and crimes against humanity. This was a display of historic torture devices so not for the faint hearted. Be warned, there are no toilet facilities at this venue, but there are public toilets located at a shopping complex across the road. I felt this attraction was overpriced, but I did enjoy the historical value of the Chamber of Horrors.

Terribly overpriced and not worth it
Tony O'Halloran 2 years ago

Terribly overpriced and not worth it. All models are behind glass. The downstairs tour was well done and the guide was well informed. For some reason photos are not allowed on the tour. Self guided tour upstairs was disappointing. Models were not very realistic in most cases.

If you are expecting Madame Tussauds (like in London
Martin G. 2 years ago

If you are expecting Madame Tussauds (like in London, Sydney, Berlin, Amsterdam etc.) you are definitely wrong. The wax museum in Surfers Paradise is nice for a rainy day to spend max. 1,5 - 2 hours. Nice is the cellar with a guided tour in the history of torture/horror etc. Upstairs you have the opportunity to see some famous people. The quality of the wax persons varies - some look real, some not at all. The downside is that all of them are behind glass and taking pictures is not that easy - especially if you also want to be on that picture. Overall price is quite high for what you experience, but depending on the weather still worth a visit.

The Wax Museum was just fabulous

The Wax Museum was just fabulous! There was no problem at all using the vouchers & we joined a guided tour as we entered which was fascinating, & then did the usual pics with the wax statues - that’s a great fun place; educational, interesting & entertaining as well! My boyfriend met president Obama (the wax version!) – we figured that was as close as we’d get! Thanks again for the opportunity with the prize, we wouldn’t have got to see this venue if you didn’t provide the opportunity to win so we’re very grateful – much thanks to you & your company!
