The National Sports Museum at the Melbourne Cricket Ground is now closed until late February 2020 while it undergoes an exciting $17 million redevelopment.

Sports fans must visit the National Sports Museum on the grounds of the well loved Melbourne Cricket Ground. See Australia’s largest collection of sporting memorabilia here as you listen to stories about sporting legends that have played on these hallowed grounds. The museum also has an interactive gallery which covers multiple sports. Among some of the highlights of the museum are the Hall of Fames for Australian Cricket, Football and Sport Australia. The museum also has a fascinating exhibition on the Olympics through the years, the Melbourne Cricket Club and the MCG's The People's Ground. Not to be missed are the interactive 3D hologram exhibition 'Backyard to the Baggy Green' and a 3D 'Australian Football Exhibition' by James Hird which is great for visitors of all ages. Not just limited to cricket or football, the National Sport Museum has sporting memorabilia displays from basketball, boxing, netball, soccer, cycling, tennis, golf, rugby league and rugby union as well as Paralympic sport.
